A Time to Rest?
Still looking toward a time to rest. Just around the corner I think?
“Come to me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” Matt.11:28.

All extra and even some regular activities, have come to a screeching halt. Yeah!
Following the completion on several commitments, resting today, feels great! Tuesday morning will be another story. I’m turning over a new leaf! I plan to make an all out effort to regain control of self, schedule and surroundings. Taking a little time to regroup, re-focus, reclaim, re-evaluate, regenerate, reflect and reform? Sounds re-asonable, right?
Turning Over A New Leaf idiom: Make a fresh start, change one’s conduct or attitude for the better, as in He promised the teacher he would turn over a new leaf and behave himself in class. This expression alludes to turning the page of a book to a new page. [Early 1500s]
A milestone today, small one in the over all scheme of things I suppose however, it feels huge to me. The past eight months have been busier than I enjoy my life to be. Time to really slow things down, take stock and adjust my priority check list.
The photo below is from a sleepy, little, old fashioned town square in the middle of Iowa. Although, this building was a bit out of place, the window caught our attention, from the last road trip I took with my friend Annie.
Finished, or nearly finished the masonry portion on our church today. Men donated their time and skills and the women provided delicious dishes and lots of iced water to drink. Blessings and thanks to all.
A fitting day for a major life change, my dad’s birthday –
John F. Wecker July 3, 1925 – Nov. 1, 1998.
The four Dave’s, winding down their day on the exterior walls. Whew!
Looks nice, eh? Notice the position of both Dave dads and of the Dave sons! 😉
Hey Dave, who me, no I mean Dave, which Dave?
Beginning at dawn – Building on the church continues with a small crew today. Two father and son teams, all Dave’s, are working on bricks and siding.
Church progress – Best bunch of Bricklayers! We’re so grateful that this bricklaying family and friends, lent their skills today in putting up these beautiful brick walls. God bless you guys.
