So why do you (I) worry ? Yikes!

Lots of work, never enough time.

Stress reliever, reminder to self:

Matthew 6:25-34

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

We still . . . are having fun though . . between the stresses of life,

wherever we can grab it.

God bless.

Of Sober Mind

Be alert and of sober mind.

Your enemy the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

My New Year’s post Reseting, was written at a time of personal and spiritual transition, some would call repentance? Refocus? We all have those times I suppose or need to, right? I used words like ‘hopeful’ and phrases such as ‘time to stand firm,’ which were sentiments that revealed my true (& vulnerable) condition. Little did I know when I composed the entry, that all hell (well, not all) was about brake loose in our lives at the start of the year. My written words were equal to drawing a line in the sand, putting a target on your back. Stepping out in faith, moving toward Christ always does. I should have been paying closer attention. Being a creative type however, I’m very easily distracted, what can I say? Simply show me a picture and off I go in an opposite direction, quickly and continually. Artists, sheesh.

Well, we’re only a little under three months in to 2016 and I have and am fighting battles that I never saw coming. I can look back now of course and clearly see that I was not alert. The good news, I’m still learning, slowly but surely. And remembering (AGAIN) to put on my armor. The full armor this time, hopefully. And daily.

To my 2016 list of holidays, hospital & high water I can add HUGH move and change. My knees a bit more wobbly but still standing firm.

Thanks for visiting and please, take the above quote to heART.

On a lighter side, my Lion Tamer from “Circus Menagerie” created a few years ago.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

A Thankful Heart

JWeckerFrischfabricheart

I will give You thanks with all my heart;
I will sing Your praise before the heavenly beings.
I will bow down toward Your holy temple
and give thanks to Your name
for Your constant love and truth.
You have exalted Your name
and Your promise above everything else.
On the day I called, You answered me;
You increased strength within me.

The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me.
Lord, Your love is eternal;
do not abandon the work of Your hands.

Time

Snowy (Happy) New Year everyone!

Sitting cozy today, watching two to three predicted inches of falling (snow) flakes, a gorgeous (my favorite) site. Also reflecting, remembering and declaring resolutions. Setting goals, some spiritual and some personal for 2013. The typical thought process that we all share at this time of year I imagine. A peaceful day following the Christmas hub-bub is nice.AppointedTimePaperProject©JWFImages created for Quilting Treasures “Appointed Time” fabric collection, created a few years ago, seemed appropriate.TimeLaughingNewYear©JWFApponitedTimeFabric©JWF

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, the scripture that inspired the art group:

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

A good years end message, if you have time.

God continues to cause healing as He compels me to create. A collection I call “Sewing Seeds,” is the result of such a significant gift.
The group makes it’s official debut (to the trade) at the International Quilt Market in Kansas City, May 18-20. Sewing Seeds features a beautiful blend of original art, vintage images with a sprinkling of sowing related scripture. This market I have the added pleasure of assisting in the display set up so, in preparation I am collecting cans and overseeing other display details.

The Garden/Sewing inspired concept has been on my (ideas) books since 2008. Sowing seeds, both biological and spiritual with a play on the sewing vs sowing words, was a challenge to convey. However, as the line developed, the ideas blossomed through (pain &) perseverance. Knowing that snippets of the healing Holy text as part of a quilt, may offer similar comfort as it covers a child (or someone), perhaps a hundred years from now, for me is an overflowing cup. I am already enjoying the yield and hope you will too. To see more Sewing Seed images, go to FaceBook.

He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed,Shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him. Ps.126:6
