As a Rabbit once said, “Oh dear, oh dear, I shall be too late!” For a very important date, or a deadline? Juggling several projects simultaneously is wreaking havoc with my time management skills. Are meeting difficult deadlines supposed to come with the “artist territory?”

After posting my art find yesterday, I decided to showcase a “Tuesday’s Treasure” on my blog weekly. Hmmmn, I wonder when I’ll run out of items to post, 2050? So, I invite you to tune in Tuesdays.

I often include the collectibles in my artwork such as the buttons that I found in my gram’s & mom’s button tins. Antique and vintage items are among my favorite subjects to draw.

Tiny Tailor Fabric
These buttons made it into my “Tiny Tailors” fabric line which can be found in quilt shops now. www.quiltingtreasures.com

This is one of the blocks included on the book panel in the fabric collection. Amazing Designs will be offering the designs as machine embroidery software. I’ll post the update for that next week. I was very pleased with the result of this group from Quilting Treasures and it was really a fun group to create.

1892 Drawing Course
Cool Drawing Course! I found this antique drawing course booklet on Ebay. This is Book I of VI that were available for 5¢ in 1892. It offers twenty four pages of drawing exercises and general instructions for position of the body, arms, hands, pencil and book! I couldn’t resist the pretty cover of this artsy find.

I suppose that all of us in the “Gram” category look at our children’s children as the sweetest in the world. I had to grin this morning when our Sydney girl discovered that today marked the six weeks that she had to wait to change earrings in her newly pierced ears. She shared that she was wearing a yellow shirt to match her bumble bee earrings. Sydney is nine and like her mother, well, they grow up much too fast.

"Animal Alphabet Games" fabric
This week was the first opportunity I had to see the final product of my latest creations, “Animal Alphabet Games.” This fabric bears an exceptional likeness to the original art. It delivered to quilt shops just before Christmas and is now available. Many of you have expressed an interest in locating more “Hungry Animal Alphabet” fabric. I think you will find this fabric group to be equally engaging and fun. From the artist’s point of view, the animal games art is my new favorite alphabet.

The line features our favorite animals immersed in a variety of fun and games, vintage style. The games & toys include all of the old “favorites” such as Jacks, Jump-rope and Old Maid. I am always amazed to see the sketches develop through the various stages and on to become the finished product. As you can see here, the fabric printed beautifully. I invite you to Check out the Cow, Clowning around as he plays Cards and Chess in a Checked Coat. Is he Cheating? Available in quilt shops now.

I have been working hard on numerous projects since early November and look forward to sharing them soon. I am grateful to have the work but we all need a pause once in a while. Lunch and a matinee’ with my good friend yesterday provided a great escape. I recommend it.

Make A Wish!
Barbara’s birthday today! We once shared a room and now are separated by over nine hundred miles. I remember when we were very young, that my sister read from a large stack of Archie Comic books. You know Archie, Betty, Veronica, Reggie and Jug-head? Well, I discovered a 1958 copy of “Laugh” in a shop and it sparked one of those memories that transport you back in time. Two sisters, reading comic books in their room before lights out. I can’t wait to hear her reaction when she opens her package from me today with the Laugh surprise inside. Happy Birthday Barbara!
