After posting my art find yesterday, I decided to showcase a “Tuesday’s Treasure” on my blog weekly. Hmmmn, I wonder when I’ll run out of items to post, 2050? So, I invite you to tune in Tuesdays.
I often include the collectibles in my artwork such as the buttons that I found in my gram’s & mom’s button tins. Antique and vintage items are among my favorite subjects to draw.
These buttons made it into my “Tiny Tailors” fabric line which can be found in quilt shops now. www.quiltingtreasures.com
This is one of the blocks included on the book panel in the fabric collection. Amazing Designs will be offering the designs as machine embroidery software. I’ll post the update for that next week. I was very pleased with the result of this group from Quilting Treasures and it was really a fun group to create.
How charming is this? Can’t wait to see what treasure next Tuesday brings!
Janet, these are amazing!!!! I think they’d make wonderful prints for button collectors! Are they licensed with a print publisher yet???? They should be!
You have such a touch with details.

Wow, Janet, I see you’ve bee busy blogging!
Amazing stuff! The buttons certainly take on a new life once they’re drawn. A photograph can only go so far, the art comes straight from the heart!

Old buttons ~ Yummy! Love ’em!
Hi – Ooo yes, me too. My good friend and neighbor has the largest button collection that I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t imagine how many thousands there must be. She use to make jewelry with them several years ago. The old ones are quite the art form, aren’t they?
Hi Janet,
While I popped in for a visit via Diane’s blog, we’ve chatted a bit in our SD group over on linkedin.
Your fabric is delicious…what a fabulous gift you have.
