A good friend gave me some avocado Sunday and today they were fully ripe, perfect for guacamole. Not from scratch as you can see. Just because, Syd and I decided we would try growing some trees from the seeds. Here’s how we did it:

Wow, what a good friend you have in Vanessa! I love avacado. My daughters and I used to do this, we had a great time and many actually sprouted! I supplied many of them after making fresh guacamole when we lived in California. Yummy, yum, yum!
I love fresh guacamole! I have thought about trying to grow some plants from the seeds but haven’t yet. My mother grew one and it got fairly tall, but it wasn’t in a good spot for growth. But it should be fun! Whenever I eat fruit, I always throw the seed outside hoping that something will grow, but nothing ever does. Yet, whenever a bird drops a seed from weeds, it always grows!
Janet, we just love avocados. I always save the pits just to toss in a bowl, let them dry and use them as natural botanical decorations. But I’ve always wondered how to make them sprout.
Let me know how it works!
Hugs, Diane
Hi Diane, what a good idea, I like that.
We used to do this as kids! Fun project!
