January – Atlanta follow up, new product focus and putting the final stamps on the studio.
Built and installed fabric shelves mid month.

This week, the main work space took shape.
With familiar faces,
Old tables in new spaces,
And getting our shingle ready to hang.
The question now . . .
paint, decoupage or upholster?
Making progress.
Somebody still needs to clean up the kitchen.
Next week.
Our 2015 started with none other than . . . a road trip, to Atlanta! Great weather, company and connections with (artist) friends and business partners so, over all a successful and optimistic way to begin the new year. Returning however, to a full schedule and much art to create.
Here are a few photos of one of my favorite showrooms that seamed like home to me. Right smack in the middle of antiques and some convincing reproductions. It was difficult to leave.
The little hand stitched heart in my last post, given to me by quilting friend Joan Ford, inspired these easy to make,
Dress Form Christmas Ornaments.
I started to make these for our display on the way to Spring Quilt Market earlier this year.
“Angel Band”
is our third Handmaids® collection in the series,
presented on fabric by Quilting Treasures.
Available in quilt shops now.
Sewing them became quite addicting. There are twenty four available in a twelve inch piece of the festive forms. First do a rough cut of any one of the dress forms, sandwich with an equal sized piece of coordinating backing (muslin if personalizing) and hi loft batting and begin stitching, following tight to the outside line of the image. Then trim with sharp scissors for a raw edge finish. I added a 1/8″ wide satin ribbon on the back to hang or tie onto a package. A great gift and tag, to use before placing on the tree.
Next, the plan is to embellish them, with a variety of found objects, sequence and beads.
We’ll see.
