HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!
Bit of History – Valentine was a holy priest in Rome, who, with St. Marius and his family, assisted the martyrs in the persecution under Claudius II. He was apprehended, and sent by the emperor to the prefect of Rome, who, on finding all his promises to make him renounce his faith in effectual, commended him to be beaten with clubs, and afterwards, to be beheaded, which was executed on February 14, about the year 270. Archaeologists unearthed a Roman catacomb and an ancient church dedicated to Saint Valentine. In 496 AD Pope Gelasius marked February 14th as a celebration in honor of his martyrdom.
Bit of Fun – Here is our Valentine projects reveal. The Valentine boxes & tags were created using a combination of original art (collage sheets), vintage sheet music, stamps, post cards, large shipping tags, ribbons & buttons. Still adding some embellishments to our “Valentags!”
Those boxes are soooooo charming and I love the Valentags!
Thanks Annie, It was so fun to get back into cutting, crafting and creating! I think I might have to get on those other million and one projects I’ve been putting off for so long. I had forgotten how much I enjoy working on a variety of projects.
How delightful! And your blog is off to a fabulous start. Great job.
These are gorgeous and so colorful! You have some of the most amazing images to add to your creations and just the right touch, Janet!
Going back to look again!

vintage art, music etc! Your tags are adorable also!
I love the valentine boxes! And one of them is mine! Gram has the best ideas. I got so many valentines and one girl at school even said that I had the cutest box there! I am really glad my Gram helped me with my box.
