Healthy Color

Well, I made it to the grocery store and returned with the healthy stuff. Taking the time to read the labels of everything I was buying, took additional time. I think I may have set a record for the longest grocery shopping experience.

The report I mentioned on Monday’s post was lengthy and the section on supplements is going to take more time to investigate. What I’ve read so far makes a lot of sense and I think it was a worth while purchase.

Some of the report included the commonly known healthy choices that we should already be making. However it also offers much information on nutrients, exercise, sleep, stress, meditation (I’ll call prayer), etc., some of which I was not aware, such as sea salt.

Who knew, sea salt, make the switch.

So, bringing home the colorful food is only the beginning to this natural approach of controlling blood pressure and a new way of living.

These are two of my healthiest pieces of art, both from my “Home Grown” collection.

Ain’t She Sweet?

Who doesn’t want to try their hand at the art of paper and mixed media? I have been admiring this popular trend for a while now and recently signed up for Mary Engelbreit’s Home Companion Workshop in the Spring.  (Workshop is April 30 and May 1, www.maryengelbreit.com for more details) When my granddaughter ask me to help with a Valentine box for school, I thought it would be the perfect project to get my feet wet.

Baby Buttons on red & Dress Forms - "Tiny Tailor" fabric

I’ve gathered a little bit of everything that looked very Valentine-y from my supply stash.  A good friend offered her secret decoupage paste concoction. I’ve soaked a few items in this morning’s coffee. Hmmmn, I wonder what we do next.  Let’s see, do I have anything else red?

"Camp Christmas" fabric heart - gift from Joan Ford

Of course Sydney believes that her gram can “make” anything, considering my extensive artsy, craftsy background. So, the pressure’s on.  I’ve made my share of Valentine boxes in my day.  Surely I can …..um, er, uh, well. We’re  doing this after church tomorrow so, you still have time to post any helpful hints under comments!

Back To The Drawing Board

Back to the drawing board – literally, I am back to drawing today and back to focusing on 2010-fall fabric line.  Love photoshop-ing existing art but have to get pencil in hand today and regain focus.  Hmmmn – I can almost smell the new art group brewing!

Hi

Wow 2010, new year, new decade, new blog.  I am STIll trying to catch up on work projects, which poured in around November and recuperate from Christmas activities.  Amidst the work is the continuing saga of organizing the workspace.  Too much stuff  and I’m the messy artist type.  However, the piles of catalogs, where I do all Christmas shopping, are the main obstacle!  Eeks, speaking of pouring in.
